MINISTRY OF SOUND X ELLE DUENDE
Tracing the evolution of the Ministry of Sound brand, from its 1991 origins.

“Sovereign is the most important club concept to hit Ministry of Sound London in a generation.”
001 DJ SASHA, 002 DJ BEN KLOCK
A Sovereign ring made in the traditional method, 3 elements; a coin, a coin mount, and a ring mount.
“With Sovereign, Ministry reclaims the position of kingmaker in British electronic music. The concept will see our team of experts handpick the very best, most influential artists in the scene today. We will celebrate each one with an all night long headline set on the best sound system in the world and present them with a bespoke, one-of-a-kind sovereign ring in recognition of their unparalleled contribution to electronic music."
A selection of images documenting the process.
“In 1991, the Ministry of Sound nightclub was founded in South London. What's now one of the world's most famous nightclubs was once just a bus depot.
As Berkmann put it, ‘My concept for Ministry was purely this: 100% sound system first, lights second, design third (in that order); the reverse of everyone else's idea.’ At a potential 156 decibels the multi-award-winning sound system lives up to Berkmann's promise. As a brand, its cheekily familiar portcullis became almost as recognisable as its inspiration, the Houses of Parliament themselves!”
An exploration into the Ministry of Sound brand heritage.
The Ministry of Sound logo on one side of the coin, an Elephant to reference the club's origins of Elephant and Castle on the other side. The famous Ministry speaker stack sits on top of the Elephant. The portcullis design inspired by the Houses of Parliament is projected onto the ring band from every angle. ‘Est in 1991’ on one side of the coin to reference when the club was founded.
Each ring is numbered as part of a limited edition run of rings to celebrate some of the biggest names in dance and electronic music.
This ring is hallmarked with all the traditional hallmarks. Handcrafted in Hatton Garden in London, using recycled 9K gold.
